The VHSL gave an update following Governor Ralph Northam's update on Monday. The following is the official press release from the VHSL.
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia High School League (VHSL) Executive Director Dr. John W. “Billy” Haun responds to Governor Northam’s new statewide measure to contain COVID-19, including a limit from 250 to 25 spectators for in-person gatherings. “We want to make it very clear that the Governor’s order for reduction in public and private gatherings to 25 individuals applies to “spectators” and not participants at those events,” said VHSL Executive Director Dr. John W. “Billy” Haun. “Nothing in the order prevents VHSL member schools from holding contests.” The VHSL went to social media on Monday adding the following.
"Friday, Gov. Northam announced restrictions for in-person gatherings," said the VHSL, via Twitter, "These restrictions apply to spectators and does NOT prevent VHSL contests from being held. We will update you if things change."

RCSN Analysis: In a nutshell, high school sports in Virginia are still a go, but the possibility for spectators to be in attendance around the state is slim, especially for bigger schools. However, all schools will make their own decision when the time comes. RCHS is still undecided. More info on this to come at a later date.
